A variation of the average carbon steel, most commonly purchased due to its higher strength, although much more expensive. It’s a distinctively hard material that is well-suited to be used in the making of tools. The suitability for this also comes from its resistance to abrasion and deformation, as well as its ability to hold a cutting edge at higher temperatures.

Tool steel is commonly used for making knives and blades, it is also used for making cutting, punching and shearing tools.

We carry tool steel in the following grades: D2,D3, O1.
